Gateway continually recruits and hires for the following positions:

Caregiver C-I


Department: Day, Swing and Night Shifts

Location: Direct Care Staff

Job Title: C-I

Reports to: C-III (CII in C-III abscence)

Type of Position: Full-time / Non-exempt

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Getting residents up and dressed, shower residents, provide oral care, toilet residents, resident transfers, serve meals, prepare/serve snacks 3 X daily, assist residents with eating if necessary
• Check and change attends as needed, put residents to bed, shift change report, laundry, housekeeping in resident rooms, bathrooms and common areas.
• C-I has direct communication with the CII or CIII.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• No prior caregiver experience is required
• Demonstrated stability in work history
• Positive employer references
• Ability to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal history background check
• Ability to successfully complete orientation and new team member training
• Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally
• Excellent team and organizational skills

PHYSICAL ASPECTS

• Regularly walking throughout home, into resident bedrooms, bathrooms, dining area and other common areas
• Regularly crouching, kneeling, bending and twisting throughout shift
• Occasionally sitting for up to 1 hour at a time.
• Occasionally lifting, pushing and/or pulling up to 50lbs.


Caregiver C-II


Department: Day, Swing and Night Shifts

Location: Direct Care Staff

Job Title: C-II

Reports to: C-IV or C-111

Type of Position: Full-time / Non-exempt

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Pass medication 2 days per week and in the absence of the C-III
• Medication and resident charting
• Wound Care
• Train new C-Is
• Assist C-I with care giving on medication passing days
• Perform caregiver tasks on days not assigned to pass medication. Caregiver duties include: getting residents up and dressed, showering residents, providing oral care
• Toilet residents, transfer residents, serve meals, checking and changing attends, putting residents to bed, shift change report
• Communicate with Care Managers and Shift Supervisors on resident issues
• Supervise and instruct employees

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of 6 months caregiver experience (preferred)
• Excellent attendance record (fewer than 2 unexcused absences in any 30 day period)
• Completion of C-I Masters Program
• Ability to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal history background check
• Demonstrated leadership and assertiveness skills
• Ability to successfully problem solve with co-workers and customers
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Excellent organizational skills

PHYSICAL ASPECTS

• Regularly standing at medication station for various lengths of time throughout shift.
• Regularly walking throughout home, into resident bedrooms, bathrooms, dining area and other common areas
• Regularly crouching, kneeling, bending and twisting throughout shift.
• Occasionally sitting for up to 1 hour at a time.
• Occasionally lifting, pushing and/or pulling up to 50lbs.


Caregiver C-III


Department: Day, Swing and Night Shifts

Location: Direct Care Staff

Job Title: Medication Passer, C-III

Reports to: Assistant Administrator or Staff Development Coordinator

Type of Position: Full-time

Hours: 40 / week, Non-exempt

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Pass medication
• Medication and resident charting
• Wound Care
• Delegate work to C-I and C-II
• Train C-II to pass medication
• Train new C-Is
• Evaluate employee performance
• Assist with care giving tasks
• Monitor break periods
• Conduct Audits
• Oversee operation of home during shift
• Conduct change outs
• Communicate with Care Managers and Shift Supervisors on resident issues
• Supervise and counsel employees

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of 6 months as a C-II at Gateway Adult Care or 1 year as a previous medication passer at residential care facility
• Excellent attendance record (fewer than 2 unexcused absences in any 30 day period)
• Completion of C-I, C-II Masters Program
• Ability to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal history background check
• Demonstrated leadership and assertiveness skills
• Ability to successfully problem solve with co-workers and customers
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Excellent organizational skills
