Job Title: Cook

Reports to: Head Cook

Type of Position: Full-time

Hours: 40 / week, Non-exempt


• Prepare lunch and dinner following Gateway procedures and recipes • Ensure resident dietary needs are met • Complete meal prep work for next day meals • Ensure houses are stocked with daily food needs, filling out proper paperwork • Organize refrigerator and cabinets on a daily basis • Ensure all sanitation precautions are being met during meal service • Ensures meal temperatures are in accordance with guidelines • Ensure proper dating procedures for stored foods • Clean and maintain all food service areas • Observe recycle procedures • Load, unload weekly stock items • Monitor meal sheets • Ensure all daily paperwork is being properly filled out • Ensure resident’s dietary requirements are being achieved, addressing special dietary needs


• Minimum of 1 year cook experience (preferred) • Excellent attendance record (fewer than 2 unexcused absences in any 30 day period) • Demonstrated leadership and assertiveness skills • Ability to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal history background check • Ability to successfully problem solve with co-workers and customers • Ability to communicate effectively • Excellent organizational skills


• Regularly standing cook stations for various lengths of time throughout shift. • Regularly walking throughout home, dining area and other common areas • Regularly crouching, kneeling, bending and twisting throughout shift. • Regularly lifting, pushing and/or pulling up to 50lbs.
