Job Title: Facility Maintenance

Reports to: Yvonne Jarofski, Administrator

Type of Position: Full-Time/ Non-Exempt

Shift: Monday – Friday

Pay Range: $13.00 – 16.00 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY

The Facility Maintenance position is required to perform skilled and semi-skilled maintenance tasks and coordinate with Facility Maintenance Specialist, delegate or tradespeople in the completion of work tasks at campus facilities. Including but not limited to general labor, painting, plumbing, carpentry, equipment maintenance/repair, routine electrical work that does not require a license, preventative maintenance and the care of our campuses.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Basic knowledge of maintenance in a general maintenance capacity

  • Basic grounds maintenance knowledge

  • At least one year’s experience working with persons with Alzheimer's disease

  • Experience in working in adult day care, or in a facility serving persons with dementia

ABILITY TO

  • Complete maintenance assistant's training

  • Show patience and compassion when working with other staff

  • Have a cooperative, friendly, and helpful attitude with clients and co-workers

  • Demonstrate stability in work history

  • Communicate effectively both written and verbally in the English language

  • Work independently and in a team setting

  • Pass drug screen and a criminal background check

  • Obtain and keep current First Aid and Food Handlers Card

  • Complete OHCA orientation requirements

  • Maintain the required annual training hours

  • Show passion and enthusiasm for the mission of Gateway Adult Residential Care and its clients
