Shift: Mon – Friday

Pay Range: $13.00 – 16.00 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY

The Facility Maintenance Specialist is required to independently perform skilled and semi-skilled maintenance tasks and coordinate with the Maintenance Supervisor or tradespeople in the completion of work tasks at campus facilities. Including but not limited to general labor, painting, plumbing, carpentry, equipment maintenance/repair, routine electrical work that does not require a license, preventative maintenance and the care of our campuses.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 6 months experience as a maintenance person in a general maintenance capacity
• Basic knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems
• Basic grounds maintenance knowledge

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Skills, knowledge, and abilities that complement current staff or work independently while performing electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manual
• Ability to maintain monthly records and complete order and tracking forms
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
• You must have outstanding punctuality and attendance
• You must work well with others and take direction well
• Ability to work amongst residents with dementia and mental health diagnosis, respecting their home environment and interact appropriately
• Ability to recognize safety hazards and respond quickly with solutions
